During trance, a remarkable phenomenon known as overshadowing or transfiguration may occur. This takes place when celestial guides gently envelop the trance sitter’s face or body in a fine layer of ethereal energy, creating what is sometimes described as an ectoplasmic mask. This subtle veil differs from the trance sitter’s natural appearance and can often be perceived both physically and clairvoyantly.
The term transfiguration arose in our 3D reality because the trance sitter may appear to have taken on the likeness of another celestial being. Within trance, the sensation of overshadowing can feel like being wrapped in a blanket of light or immersed in a gentle current of energy. Some sitters report sensing changes through their human awareness, such as a broader mouth, a different nose shape, or even the presence of facial hair.
Observers may witness visible changes: the sitter’s eyes appearing open when they are closed – known as ‘Spirit eyes’ in trance circles, facial hair, glasses, head garments or an entirely different countenance altogether. These manifestations can be both fascinating and humbling, a profound reminder of the close communion between our physical and celestial worlds.
Through telepathic connection and subtle energy manipulation, celestial guides project specific images to the subconscious and ethereal layers of the trance sitter. These impressions form the basis of the overshadowing effect, the celestial image manifesting upon the ethereal energy field surrounding the sitter. The strength and clarity of the experience depends upon several factors: the energy within the room, the spiritual readiness of the group, the vibration of the trance sitter, and the blending skill of both the trance guide and any supporting circle members.
The ideal conditions for overshadowing traditionally involve the use of a trance cabinet illuminated by a soft red or blue light, with all other light sources extinguished. A fully darkened room allows the ethereal mask or facial transfiguration to become more visible to observers. In some cases, overshadowing can even occur in daylight, especially when the observer is energetically attuned to the celestial being blending with the trance sitter.
Recently, during a Zoom session, we set the intention for both overshadowing and communication while working in the trance state. To our surprise, the camera captured a distinct blue overshadowing energy, despite there being no blue light present in the room.
After discussing this with a fellow light worker channeller, we learned that many trance guides are now working with a new frequency of harmonic light. This vibration is beginning to be perceived by both the human eye and digital technology as a blue energy field, creating the overshadowing effects we are now witnessing.
This shift reflects the ongoing quantum evolution of trance communication, as the celestial realms continue to introduce new light spectrums and frequencies to support humanity’s next stage of ascension and telepathic development.
Traditionally, any phenomenon of this nature should be witnessed by at least two people to be considered verifiable. However, it is also possible that only the intended recipient of the message perceives the transfiguration, as their unique energetic link may make them more sensitive to the manifestation.
During my early years of trance development, both as a student and teacher, I experienced many forms of overshadowing within development circles, some at my own church, others in groups I led. Frequently, our celestial guides appeared in recognisable human-like forms, reflecting how they once looked in physical Earth life. This was intentional, helping the circle members feel comfortable before revealing their more advanced multi-dimensional transitional light forms.
At times, loved ones would also appear, though sometimes only visible to one or two people within the group. Regardless, the sacredness of the experience was undeniable.
To trusted trance groups, our celestial collaborators occasionally revealed their true forms, not human at all, but radiant celestial star beings of physical presence or light and geometry, far beyond our earthly comprehension. These moments were always filled with reverence and unity.
Patience is essential in all trance work. Once the trance sitter enters a deep trance and sets the intention for over-shadowing, we wait calmly and silently for the presence of the celestial guides. As the energy deepens, the group may quietly share their impressions to ensure observations are clear and not influenced by imagination. This process of mutual awareness not only validates what is seen but also assists our celestial guides in refining the connection.
Overshadowing may extend beyond the face to other parts of the body, hands, neck, shoulders, or even clothing may seem to change form. Some sitters have observed the appearance of hats, glasses, beards, or even altered proportions such as the illusion of a wooden leg.
These sacred encounters remind us of the exquisite harmony between the physical and celestial planes, a dance of energy, trust, and divine purpose that reveals how intimately we are connected to the higher worlds.
This was my Arcturian guide called Telikan, he likes to blend to overshadow, has been with me for 12 years

This is one of my Salcariton Guides, he had an earth life and presents himself in his human form of his earth life – always with a Mustache

This blending for overshadowing was an observer of our session, a being from the Pyachrions connected with ancient Egypt.
